Merry Christmas 2002 !
We hope this year finds everyone in the best of health and spirits. There is quite a bit to report this time, so I’ll jump right into it.. The best news is that Heidi and Jason have a daughter and we have a granddaughter, April Louise Bong, born March 30, 2002. She is a healthy, happy, and well-loved baby. The worst news is that Jim’s mother died in January after a sudden and very painful, but very short illness. She celebrated her 91st birthday in December, and her health seemed normal at that time.
The bad news-good news follows. The bad is that Jim was laid off after 42 years with Tektronix on December 2nd this year. The good is that he was thinking about retirement anyway, and this just moves it up a ways plus gives him a bonus, (layoff compensation), for doing it.
Those were the big things, the everyday things include Linda’s new knees getting better all the time. Very little pain now, mainly with weather changes. We’ve been doing some repairs to the house, getting away to Lapine for relaxation whenever possible, and just carrying on as usual.
Heidi and Jason are doing well. Jason is still driving the bus that picks up the handicapped and Heidi is still working as dispatcher for the same company. Heidi is taking some classes that would allow her to move to a different job that has more possibility of advancement. It’s not sure, and I don’t know all the details yet, so if it works out that will be for next year’s letter.
We wish all our friends and family all the best in the coming year.
Merry Christmas
, Happy New Year, and may God Bless you all !!Jim and Linda Hill
